Hair Treatment

The hair is made up of dead cells stacked on top of one another as they get pushed from living cells in the hair follicles, and that is the reason why cutting the hair does not hurt but pulling at it does.  Hair treatment is the cleaning and grooming of the hair.  Healthy hair comes from the healthy, living components of the hair which are the follicles, root, oil glands, and root sheath as well as the scalp on which the hair grows which follows that hair care is part of skin care.

Hair treatment can be as simple as choosing the hair care products because some products may not produce the right results.  Allergies will keep other people from using the certain hair care products because doing so would cause adverse effects like hair loss and dandruff.  Contact dermatitis is a condition that makes the skin, and hence the scalp, sensitive to certain substances.  The best way to find out which product is best would be to visit a dermatologist.

Shampoos and conditioners are basic weapons in the hair care arsenal and it is wise to know how to use them.  A common mistake among consumers is to apply the shampoo directly on the head; this is not advisable because eventually the scalp will develop irritation to that shampoo forcing the bather to look for another brand.  Dandruff is a tell-tale sign that the brand is not good anymore.  Hair treatment experts and dermatologists advise that shampoo be diluted with water first before being applied on hair.  The same thing goes for conditioners as well and conditioners should not be used every day.

Do not comb the hair when it is soaked with water.  Dry it first with a towel and a hair dryer, if it is available.  The use of a conditioner will mitigate the effects of hair drying as long as the stream of hot air is not too hot and not aimed at the scalp itself but at the hair in general because drying the hair while combing keeps tangles from forming when using a comb which happens a lot to people with medium to long hair.  Choosing the right comb is advisable.  Plastic combs are not recommended because the teeth develop dents and nicks overtime and these will damage hair shafts.  Combs with rotating teeth such as the Untangler brand are recommended.  Sandalwood combs and buffalo horn combs such as the Hua Mulan brand that are sold in East Asia and in stores that specialize in oriental product are good too.  These combs are pricey compared to plain plastic combs but payoff with a full head of healthy hair in the long run.

Some go the extra mile by pampering the hair by visiting the salon where people have a choice on how they want to wear their hair as well as maintain it.  Salons are another good place to visit besides dermatology clinics because salon employees are also knowledgeable about Hair treatment and can provide advice on the best products to use, which they also happen to sell in the same place.

After a long day outdoors, wash the hair upon getting home.  Hair tends to accumulate dust and dirt from the polluted outdoors and this is exacerbated by greasy hair on some individuals.  Unwashed hair has the potential to irritate the skin of the face and neck if the hair tips hit the skin and irritate the pores leading to acne.  Eat a healthy meal and relax afterwards.  A healthy body comes with healthy hair and is vital to hair treatment.
